Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to Merrick County Criminal History. Reading a page or using a search feature signals agreement. Anyone who does not accept the terms should discontinue use.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated resource is not affiliated with government. It and its advertising partners do not provide a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other decisions regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Its purpose is to identify Merrick County and Nebraska record sources. It is neither a private-investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This private reference site has no government connection. It does not store official files, retrieve records, perform official checks, or file documents.

Its role is to identify the Merrick County Sheriff, trial-court clerks, Nebraska State Patrol, and Nebraska Sex Offender Registry, along with outside tools that may assist lawful research.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use is conditioned on avoiding each of the following acts:

  • Interfering with site performance or another visitor's access
  • Running a scraper, bot, or other automated collection tool
  • Attempting unauthorized access to systems or data
  • Using information to threaten, stalk, or harass a person
  • Relying on site content for an FCRA-regulated decision
  • Violating any applicable federal, Nebraska, or local law

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information found here or through a linked tool may not be used to stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, or unlawfully discriminate. Nebraska Sex Offender Registry data demands special care. Threats, vandalism, retaliation, and vigilantism against a registrant, family member, or associated person can lead to prosecution. Registry access exists for lawful community awareness.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Neither Merrick County Criminal History nor its advertising partners creates a consumer report, credit report, or screening product. The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. Data found here or through a linked tool cannot lawfully be used to:

  • Make any other decision covered by the FCRA
  • Set insurance terms or assess creditworthiness
  • Evaluate a license, permit, or government-program applicant where regulated
  • Review a housing application
  • Make an employment decision

Any FCRA-regulated need must be handled through an authorized, compliant provider and not through this resource.

5. No Legal Advice

Nothing here is legal advice. General Merrick County record information cannot determine how a charge, conviction, warrant, suppression rule, or set aside applies to one person. Consult a licensed Nebraska attorney for that analysis.

6. No Warranties

All material is supplied "as is," without a promise that:

  • An outside search result will be complete or correct
  • Pages contain no bug, error, or security weakness
  • Access will remain uninterrupted
  • Every item is accurate, complete, and current

Criminal records change as charges are filed, dismissed, corrected, suppressed, or set aside. Gaps are unavoidable, and nothing here is an official statement from a sheriff, court, or Nebraska agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links lead to courts, sheriff pages, Nebraska agencies, legal resources, and outside search services. A destination controls its own content, availability, privacy practices, and charges. We accept no responsibility for those matters, so review the destination's terms before use.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Merrick County Criminal History or its content partners. Copying, adapting, or distributing that material requires prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim liability for loss caused by use of the site or reliance on information reached through it.

10. Indemnification

A user agrees to defend and hold us harmless against claims, demands, proceedings, legal fees, and related costs arising from that user's conduct or breach of these terms.

11. Governing Law

Nebraska law governs these terms, and a related dispute must be filed in Nebraska. The Nebraska Public Records Statutes, Neb. Rev. Stat. §§84-712 through 84-712.09, and criminal-history dissemination rule in §29-3523 govern official records held by public agencies, not private site data.

12. Changes to These Terms

Revised terms may be posted at any time and become effective when published on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be restricted or ended without prior notice when we choose.

14. Severability

If one provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue. The affected language will be narrowed only as needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions concerning these conditions may be directed through the Contact page.
